Well increases pharmacist salaries after review

Well Pharmacy has said it will increase its pharmacists’ salaries following its latest annual review.

The chain said “top performers” will receive a rise of up to six per cent while other pharmacists will get an average of four per cent more.

Newly qualified pharmacists will see their minimum full-time wage increase to £44,000 plus location allowances and Well also said it will introduce an incentive scheme allowing its pharmacists to earn up to 15 per cent of their annual salary.

Well said the scheme “rewards the local market share performance of prescriptions and pharmacy services delivery for patients.”

The chain’s operations director Louis Purchase said: “Our ‘Destination Well’ strategy provides an exciting framework for our future, with the intention for our pharmacies to be best in town and to outpace the market. This new bonus scheme is designed to share the reward of our pharmacist’s success.

“It fits squarely with our expert value and culture code. The new scheme also helps deliver our promise to make our pharmacists feel valued, more important now given the sector workforce and funding challenges.

“The incentive scheme is in addition to existing benefits, incentives and payments offered to pharmacists as part of their total reward package.”
